Burton U.S. Open Pipe and Slopestyle Recap

The Burton U.S. Open went down this past week in Vail, CO (March 1-4, 2017). A storied contest, the U.S. Open has been a testing ground for pro snowboarders for 35 years. Given the current state of snowboarding and the nonstop onslaught of mind-blowing progression with new tricks hitting the internet every other day, we knew that the U.S. Open was going to be awesome.

We just didn’t know it was going to be this awesome.

Men’s Halfpipe Finals

At this point, Shaun White is an elderly statesman in the pipe, but he’s still managing to school the young bucks on how it’s done. From amplitude to trick variation, no one can debate that Shaun’s got the pipe dialed.

Men’s Slopestyle Finals

A creative slopestyle setup with multiple line options had the stacked lineup of competitors going  absolutely huge. Mark McMorris responded to the pressure and set the bar high, taking home his third win in Vail.
